Vegas Tech Cocktail Week

I apologize for being a little late on posting this, but there’s still time to enjoy the bulk of what has been put together for the Tech Cocktail Week in Las Vegas. The great people at Tech Cocktail have brought an amazing lineup of speakers and events to Las Vegasover the next couple days. These events mark a great start to Tech Cocktail in Las Vegas.

Most of the events you can just show up and attend, but you can subscribe to get Tech Cocktail Week updates. You’ll also definitely want to register for the Tech Cocktail Sessions + Startup Showcase & Mixer event on Friday night.

While I’m excited for a large number of speakers, I’m not going to lie that I’m most excited to see my favorite Tech personality, Sarah Austin speak. I’m glad that Sarah is getting a chance to see what’s been started in Vegas Tech. The other keynote speakers are pretty phenomenal as well, Raj Kappor (Snapfish), Tim Draper (DFJ), and Amy Jo Martin (Digital Royalty).

SXSW Accelerator Applications Due

On the heels of the great SXSW V2V Las Vegas announcement, I wanted to also let those Las Vegas startup companies know about the SXSW Accelerator event that happens at the main SXSW event in Austin.

SXSW Accelerator returns for its fifth edition to showcase some of the web’s most exciting innovations. The event provides an outlet for companies to present their new online entertainment or gaming products, social media / networking technologies, or mobile, news, music, or health technology to a panel of industry experts, early adopters, and representatives from the angel / VC community.

Past judges have included Tim Draper of DFJ, Chris Hughes of Facebook and Jumo, Paul Graham of Y Combinator, Craig Newmark of Craiglist, Robert Scoble of Rackspace and Scobleizer, Jeff Pulver of 140 Conference, Chris Shipley of Demo and Guidewire, and Tom Conrad of Pandora to name a few. The event does a great job highlighting the technology market’s most impressive new innovations. You may remember that startup companies like Twitter and Foursquare claim SXSW as key to the launch of their products. I’m honored to be part of the SXSW Accelerator board and I can tell you the names they have involved this year are just as exciting.

The application deadline is Friday, November 9, and the event itself will be March 11-12, 2013 in Austin, TX. You can find more information and apply at the SXSW Accelerator page or at the music technology accelerator page.

Let me know that you’ve applied and I wish you the best with this! Plus, I’m sure that Gabe and SxVegas would be really excited to hear that a Vegas Tech company was going to be part of the SXSW Accelerator.
